Hallucinations begin to manifest the farther the person descends into trance, and given time they will encounter a state like that found via anesthesia. In circumstances under which anesthesia appears too risky, hypnosis has from time to time been offered to serve the same role. We think it’s obvious that you don’t need to take your subject that far, and Underground Hypnosis is more than enough for the more practical strata.
