Safe and Gentle Detoxing with Fresh Fruits
January 21st, 2010Taking on a cleansing and detox program a few times a year is one of the smartest health care choices we can make. Detoxing our body has not ever been more needful than the last 20 years. There is an unprecedented and horrible number of toxins in our environment and in the food we eat. A seasonal body cleanse, is usually not enough to clear our body of toxins, particularly if our day-to-day eating and living routines are less than ideal. Hence the second best health care practices we can set about is to implement a few healthful habits into our life. There are hundreds of healthy habits to choose from, one of which is increase the fresh fruit to your diet.
Most all fruit is a natural purifier, especially the acid fruits, like pineapple, lemons, limes, grapefruit, for example. If you set about the habit of eating 2 or 3 pieces of fruit every day, you willencourage a mild, unobtrusive detox maintenance program for your body. Here is a road map for finding the greatest gain from eating fruit:
Fruit is best consumed alone because it breaks down really quickly in the digestive track. Do not eat fruit when you eat meat or a big meal. You will make a putrefication reaction in your digestive track that will create gas, indigestion or bloating and undermine your nourishment. The healthiest time to eat fruit is first thing in the morning.
Another suitable time to eat fruit is as a snack in the middle or late afternoon. Go for a low glycemic fruit such as an apple if blood glucose can be a problem. Don’t overdo it. Fruit contains sugars and too much at one time can spike your glucose levels like a candy bar.
