The agency will soon move its staff from over 6 locations to this single building which has been enhanced and improved at a cost of £15m by Downing Property Group which ash also added other attractive features like lifestyle facilities and business facilities to the Grade A building. Once it is operational, the office will be the place to go to for all immigration issues, foreign national citizenship formalities, ID papers for foreigners and asylum cases.

Working from the same shared office premises spread over 218,000 sq ft is expected to bring some significant benefits of better coordination and greater ease of working with colleagues for the employees. These will translate into better services for the public, the Director of operations for the UK North West Border Agency, Eddy Montgomery said. He further stated that taxpayers will stand to save a substantial 10 million pounds per annum by this relocation.

George Downing, the Chairman of Downing Property Group, hoped that with this lease they have contributed significantly to enhancing the fortunes of real estate in Liverpool. He said that the magnitude of the lease will show that < ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Liverpool is a good market for quality commercial spaces. The Capital hall lease is the largest in Liverpool history, he said. The property group has been improving and enhancing the building for the border agency fro the past three years.
