Its ATT Uverse Television
May 16th, 2009My wife and I have tested out ATTs Uverse for about a month. Although ATT boasts about the quantity of HD channels it makes available, I am like the greater number of television addicts who not only do not have a hd capable tv, but also still use picture-tube-style analog formats. We only set up U-verse to the set in our living room. But the firms bundles will let you hook up to 3 and more if you are ready to pay more. The TIVO-like device connects to one TV, and the others can pull taped shows off it.
I tested the U400 bundled plan, which gets you about 320 non-HD channels and begins at $100 a month. ATT has packed choices that mix U-verse and Net access, but do not start panting at the idea of unbelievably fst Web surfing. The internet access offered with ATTs service is largely the same as ATT’s base package, though uploads are better.
The aspect that most amazed me was the picture. To be honest, I have never seen a picture that clear on any tube tv. I also like the way that the DVR can tape up to 4 channels at once.
ATT installations take 2 to 4 hours, depending on if your house’s wiring should be fixed to accommodate U-verse. In our case, technicians had to change the wiring beneath some of the telephone jacks. Because I have been using regular wiring, I’d not yet attempted a Video on Demand movie, which U-verse includes. This allows you to choose from movies and tv episodes from a variety of the premiere networks, including Showtime, and play them on your Television like a DVD player.
